During the treatment, a therapeutic oil is applied to the body to facilitate the use of a stone-like Gua sha tool. This tool is employed to scrape the skin with long, downward strokes, leading to the appearance of small, red, rash-like dots under the skin known as petechiae. These markings are a key indicator of the treatment’s impact on deep-tissue microcirculation.
This technique is often integrated with other complementary therapies such as herbal medicine, massage, acupuncture, and heat therapy, enhancing its efficacy. Gua sha is primarily used to:
